Peeking at the neighbors

This month we reflect on a "guilty pleasure" of our team: "Peeking at the neighbors. We love to peek into other people's homes in everyday life, via socials. Not only in the Netherlands, but also across the border. What interior design trends are we seeing? Join us on our journey, and take a peek behind the front door at our neighbors' homes.

Light colors and natural materials in the Netherlands

We took a look inside the home of Lisa-Jane. Together with her boyfriend, she lives in Den Helder. Through @interiorbylisajane she inspires followers with her Japandi interior. This interior style is characterized by beige tones and combined with wood, dark brown colors for contrast, round shapes and soft materials. With sofa Sommer, Lisa-Jane immediately fell in love! The sleek shape and style were the deciding factors. Fabric color Taupe was an exciting choice, but the sofa became the eye catcher of the living room. What makes it extra fun is that the couple remodeled everything about the house. From cracking open walls to laying underfloor heating and making a fixed staircase to the attic. After painting all the walls, they couldn't see paint anymore. Still, the interior love remains because once in a while things go astray and many items get a different place in the house.

In Hasselt, we got to check out Richella @huisvan_. She lives with her husband and two children in a newly built house with minimalist furnishing. The Scandinavian style is clearly reflected in the light colors and natural materials. In the five years they have been living there, some color has definitely passed by. Still, the beige colors appeal more. Corner sofa Nord in color Warm White got a central place in the house. "I was often told: do you dare to go for a white colour when living with kids? Yes! The sofa is very easy to maintain." What should not be missing in the house are a plaid and vases. "I have a weakness for vases and regularly buy a new one, but always in a soft shade."

Scandinavian influences in Germany

We also got to take a look at the home of our German neighbors Paula and Tobi. Through the account @nordic_chic they share photos of their three-bedroom apartment. The couple discovered the home while jogging and they have now been living there for 6 years. They are expecting their first child in January 2024. "Our style I would describe as Scandinavian with influences from Japanese style. Generally layered and clean, with natural colors and materials." Sofa Moa in color Soft Silk fits in beautifully. "We found the round shape very aesthetic and organic. The color has a natural effect and the material is soft and comfortable." Paula loves coffee but is also clumsy. She is therefore extra happy with the sofa's Protexx treatment.

Looking inside two houses under the French sun

In the south of France, we take a look inside Manon's Mediterranean home @loubastidon. She lives with Arnoud and their two daughters in a former wine cellar in the Gard department. After a substantial renovation of almost two years, the property has taken on a beautiful authentic atmosphere filled with antique and contemporary objects. "I enjoy mixing styles and have a preference for warm colors and natural materials," she said. The goal was to create a comfortable home with the feel of a vacation home. Sofa Finn in the color Full Terra fits perfectly in the interior with its simple lines and light curves. Because it is a modular sofa, an element can easily be added. The color comes out well. Manon has a passion for decorating. Essential elements in the home are mirrors, textiles and pieces of ceramics.

Under the French sun, we look inside the house of Aurélie @orely_home. Together with her husband and two children, they have lived in this house in Brittany for 3 years now. The house was built for them and they gave it a Scandinavian/Japanese interior. "I like simple, functional elements, light colors and natural materials. Together this creates a warm, minimalistic style and a serene atmosphere." The clean, round lines of sofa Nomi appealed right away. Aurélie thinks sofa Nomi is the perfect example of the combination of Scandinavian minimalism and Japanese aesthetics. Through simple accessories such as pillows, candles and plants, she maintains warmth in her home.

Minimalism and serenity in Poland

Natalia @badenkova.home explanes something about her interior design style. In Poland, she lives with her husband and two children. Inside the house, there is a soft, minimalist atmosphere with mostly light tones. There are no strong accents or contrasts. Natalia likes to use different shapes or patterns. Think of pillows, blankets and rugs. Mirrors should not be missing in the interior either. They optically enlarge the space and emphasize the character of a house. In the living room we find sofa Knud in the color Misty White. The minimalistic shape and light fabric were the deciding factors for her. Despite the fact that they have lived in the house for ten years, only recently did the interior feel like it was perfectly tailored to them. The house now exudes tranquility, allowing them to really relax there.

In Poland, we also look inside the home of Eva @happywifenewlife. She lives with her family in a nice house with a light, Scandinavian style. You can clearly see a love for beige tones. In addition, mainly natural materials recur. Color is added through a beautiful, large plant and posters. The space looks minimalistic, yet warm and cozy. "Since sofa Finns arrival in the color Simply Beige, the puzzle pieces of the living room really fit together well." Precisely the minimalist shape of sofa Finn is what appeals to Eva.
