This is how you choose the perfect sofa! 5 tips

The sofa has a central place in the living room. Not only is it often a prominent object in terms of size, the design and comfort also are important factors. Making the right choice can therefore be quite difficult. Our 5 handy tips will help you make the right decision. So you will soon be sitting on your Scandinavian design sofa with satisfaction!

Tip 1: Design

Did you spot THE sofa on the Internet or in the showroom and instantly fell in love? That's a good start. Above all, choose a design that suits you and your interior style. For example, a sofa on high legs gives an airy effect and works well in smaller spaces. Or do you want to create a lounge feeling, then choose a sofa low to the ground. The choice of fabric is also important. What can help here is ordering a free fabric sample kit so you can look at the fabric at home.

Tip 2: Setup

Next, it's good to think about what kind of sofa will fit in the room. Will you choose a straight sofa, corner sofa, modular sofa or perhaps a u-shaped sofa? The perfect arrangement takes sightlines into account. Will it be a place to watch TV? Warm up by the fireplace? Or does the sofa face the garden? A sofa tight to the wall is no longer obvious. For a playful effect, the sofa can be placed freestanding in the room. With an element sofa, such as Finn, there are many possibilities in terms of positioning. In addition, base your choice on the number of seats you want.

Tip 3: Measuring

Now that you understand the possible setups, it's a good idea to find out exactly what size the sofa can be. Measuring is knowing! It can be difficult to estimate how the sofa will be reflected in the room. We've come up with a solution for that. Use our Augmented Reality functionality to literally put your dream sofa in the room. Or use leaflets or tape on the floor and mimic the size. By now, do you know which sofa it will be? Then it is a good idea to measure whether all loose parts will fit through the doorway or passageway. Allow for an extra 10 cm to get a piece of furniture through a door, a stairwell or into an elevator. Need to go around a corner? Allow some extra space. That way you won't have any unpleasant surprises and you can enjoy your new sofa right away!

Tip 4: Comfort

In addition to design, a dream sofa must, of course, meet other qualities. Comfort is an essential component. Do you prefer a deep or short seat? Somewhat lower lounging or higher, active sitting. Firm or soft. Sitting comfort is a personal thing. To find out what your preference is, you can always come and try it out in one of our showrooms. Or watch the product video of the sofa on the website.

Tip 5: Quality

You want to enjoy your sofa for a long time. It is important to know how it is constructed. By SIDDE uses Nosag springing and Bonell inner springing. You can compare it to sitting on a boxspring. On top of the springs, HR foam is incorporated, instead of the cheaper polyether. Although both foams become soft, HR foam will stabilize at a certain level where polyether continues to regress in softness. Our fabrics are Protexx treated, making it just a little easier to remove a stain. On our website, we provide tips about removing stains.
