Take a look inside the house of @Homeoftess

This time we look behind the front door of Tessa, who in daily life works as a team leader in a rehabilitation center. She is 29 years old and lives with her husband in a 70s house in Leiden. They both have a great love of interior design and it shows!

Renovation

Last year they moved into this house. A lot had to be done. They made a plan and rolled up their sleeves themselves. "The house was quite dark, we tackled that first. By installing a large harmonica façade, there is now much more natural light coming in. It can open all the way, bringing the outside in. We can't wait to sit here with friends and family."

Model: Finn Simply Beige

Tranquility and coziness

She would describe her living style as Scandinavian mixed with Japandi. A calm base, with beige tones combined with wood. "It exudes balance, but it also creates coziness," she says. With beautiful accessories, the interior becomes more personal. Tessa likes to use pillows and warm rugs.

Inspiration

Inspiration comes from Instagram and Pinterest, and from magazines such as vtwonen. "For example, I see a cool piece of furniture, or a certain combination being made. I keep this idea in the back of my mind and give it my own twist."

Finn element sofa

Element bench Finn fits well into the Japandi style. "With the separate parts you can make different arrangements and there is the possibility to add elements. For example, the hocker, it is functional and gives extra comfort. It's a sleek but nice sofa to plop down on."

Tip from Tessa

"Start with a moodboard what feels nice. That style then forms the common thread for all the rooms in the house and creates unity. "
