Meet interior stylist Joy, the face behind Living by Joy. In her own home, the 'Hotel Chique' style is applied with natural colors and materials. You won't easily see anything crooked here, because this perfectionist has a good eye for detail.
Dental assistant with a passion
For a few years now, Joy has been working as an interior stylist. She has been doing this in addition to her job in a dental office. How the interior design profession came her way? "Just before Corona, my boyfriend and I bought our house and then had a lot of time to work on it. Friends and family regularly asked where the furniture came from, and if I could help them with interior design advice as well."

Through the Instagram account @living_byjoy, followers were kept informed about the new house. Because the passion for interior design turned out to be so great, Joy decided to take a course in interior styling and one thing led to another.
For every question
Joy can help you with both small issues, such as styling your home, to a total package including a lighting plan, 3D designs and a full consultation. Joy really enjoys visualizing the plan. By creating a 3D design, clients get a realistic view of the plan, which helps with making decisions.

In the By SIDDE studio, Joy came to style two sofas. Sofa Moa in Mixed Clay has been given a calm but warm look. The natural colors and materials combined with some luxurious accessories, create a 'Hotel Chic' atmosphere. A more cozy and romantic style can be seen with sofa Sommer in Oat Beige. For a little twist the color pink is added here, which returns in several places.
Essential in your interior
Good lighting is essential in an interior, according to Joy. "I personally like candles and lamps a lot. With lighting you can really set the mood and add warmth." In addition to lighting, an eye-catcher on the wall can also make a statement. Try opting for something large if the space allows or use apply wallpaper.
Choose what you like yourself
The profession of interior stylist brings many fun things. "I like working with people. To see the reaction when I deliver something, I really enjoy." In the future, she would like to make a plan for a store, restaurant or coffee shop. A good interior design tip? Above all, do what you like yourself. It's important to feel at home in your own house.
